Algeria native plants

This site presents the native plants of Algeria. To satisfy everyone, experts in botany or amateurs, several accesses are possible : the main entrance is done by the scientific names according to the " Nouvelle Flore d’Algérie " of Quezel and Santa (1962). One also finds there the families botanical and the names vernacular French, Arab or Berber, English, medicinal uses, toxicity as well as the synonyms (old names) most known. Many plants are illustrated by digital photographs taken by the author of the site.
The "Inventory" section of the site contains nearly 1500 photos of taxa (species, subspecies and varieties). The "Photo Gallery" contains other photos (1900) of the species arranged by families. Visitors can also access to introduced and naturalized plants directly via corresponding links in the left menu. Valid taxonomic names can also be found in the specialized sites of this menu.
This site is under development and I endeavor to as quickly supplement it and improve it as possible with reliable and checked information. That takes time and I ask you all for your indulgence.
